Genadendal means “Valley of Grace” and is South Africa’s oldest mission station, founded in 1738 by Moravian missionaries.
The village became an important centre for education, craftsmanship, printing, and social upliftment long before many towns were established.
Today, Genadendal is celebrated as a national heritage treasure.
